Sharm el Sheikh - Top spot for diving holidays

The Egyptian resort of Sharm el Sheikh topped a recent report as the best place for diving holidays, beating off regular favourite Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

The report, conducted by flight comparison site Cheapflights.co.uk, shows the Red Sea resort as top diving spot for both its coral reefs and overall holiday experience with beautiful white beaches and vibrant nightlife.

Nadine Hallak, Cheapflight.co.uk's travel expert, also highlighted another part of the attraction of diving at Sharm: "Not only does it have remarkable coral reefs and marine life, but it also boasts some of the best shipwrecks in the world."

The top three resorts were Sharm in first position, followed by the unsurprising Great Barrier Reef in second with Cuba in third. The top ten was made up by resorts from the Maldives, Belize, Mexico, Turks and Caicos, Hawaii, Borneo and the US Virgin Islands.
