I had to use the intercom upon arrival instead of no. Plate recognition. It’s a bit of a walk to terminal 1. But ok. Leaving was fine with no. Plate recognition working fine. Unfortunately there is so much construction going on at Manchester Airport that the Midstay is a temporary single storey building with tight curves and parking spaces. I actually got the last space after driving around the ground floor and first storey for ten minutes (popular spot to park at school half-term holidays) When construction completed the Midstay will be even better for convenience. Easy walk across to terminal 1, though road works took bit of negotiating. Car was fine when we returned. Only issue was getting out, as sign posts send you round in circles a bit, not helped by people parking in the hashed areas that you are supposed to turn into to get out, better marking would help! Mid Stay Manchester Airport Liked = Easy to find & not having to get a bus. Did not like = cars parked in the hatched zone making it difficult to navigate - they should have been towed/clamped. Also walk to T1 was convoluted and in poor condition (pot holes) and crossing other car park exits with a trolley was not easy. Unfortunately I didn't realise there was no bus service, we were flying from T2 I didn't consider it an issue being called T1 T3 parking expecting a bus service. There are a few roads to cross to reach the terminal building and we were a group of 8 (4 adults, 4 children) and found it easy enough. On returning, the car park was well signposted and once again a 10-15 minute walk. No problems on entering and leaving the car park as the barrier raised after number plate is read by a sensor. Mid Stay Manchester Airport The directions to the Manchester Aiport car park were good and though I was driving alone I easily found the car park. There was one direction however which I found a bit confusing. On entry to the car park I could not turn right as directed and was unable to find the red area in which to park as mentioned in the instructions. This was minor as I found a spot and the short walk to the airport was well signed. Likewise on return to the car the car park was well signed and the vehicle recognition worked fine. The barrier immediately lifted but no voucher was produced. However the operator confirmed that none would be needed.
