Long Stay Inverness Airport I was pleased that there was space, help at the information desk and staff at the information desk on my return so I could get my ticket validated for exit. I would strongly recommend the following: Signposting from the terminal building to the long-stay car park (I was totally lost in the dark and kept coming up against a fence so could not find my way out to the road leading to the long-stay parking); installation of new LED lamp posts at close intervals along that road; a minibus shuttle service as at Aberdeen airport. I had to walk by myself in the dark and felt very insecure. I had read reviews from other travelers and they also remarked that it was difficult to find the car park in the dark, that there were no spaces on arrival (although thankfully this was not the case with me), and scary if you were female and on your own. But I parked in short stay...which I discovered would have been £6 cheaper for me as I was going to be away for hours at very most, but wasn't really detailed on the website I booked on. Came back to find my BMW smothered in seagull droppings. The area I parked on was like a building site. But getting ticket validated was quick and easy. Getting parked was easy, getting out less so! Can you please highlight more clearly on the booking reservation, the need to validate the ticket in the airport before setting off to get the car. We had an unnecessary walk back to validate as we were unaware of that need, anticipating the barcode on the reservation as being the exit code. Long Stay Inverness Airport The long stay car park at Inverness is an easy walk from the airport,,so that's good. However, there is a capacity problem. I use this airport frequently, and on the last few occasions the car park has been overbooked. A couple of months ago i could not find a space and I ended up making phone calls to Airparks and having to sort out arrangements to park at the Short Stay car park instead. It was easily resolved but took up time while I made calls - luckily I had left home in plenty of time. This most recent time, I did eventually find a space, but there were cars everywhere, squeezed into any gap, causing obstructions. This needs to be sorted out. Also, on this most recent occasion, the ticket I was given on exit did not work in the barrier. Luckily when I tried the other barrier it worked, but had it not I don't know what I would have done because the airport had closed by then and no one was answering the help button. On phoning Airparks your representative, who was very good,contacted the airport then directed us to shortstay. Although shortstay was nearer and more convenient it did mean having to drive round and round longstay looking for a space, phone Airparks , transfer to short stay, speak to airport information, then queue up and have ticket validated at information on return. Long Stay Inverness Airport Paid in advance for long stay parking at Inverness. When we arrived, we were alarmed to see double parking, parking on grass verges etc. Eventually found the one remaining parking space. Car park not attended by staff. Returned after 8 days to collect car and noted car park full sign. Wonder what we would have done if we had arrived at start of out holiday and found car park full-no attendant so no one to ask for support. Mr Reid 21 Jun, 2016
